Director of Marketing and Business Development
This position is to manage the business development and marketing initiatives at Sylvan Crossings Assisted Living and Memory Care communities. Duties include, but are not limited development of marketing material and content, census/ occupancy, community relations, and training staff to be proficient marketers. In addition, this position is responsible for researching, recommending, and implementing marketing strategies, tools, and methods. The ideal candidate will generate marketing and relationship development business plans, methods, and tools to support, enable and enhance relationships within the communities we operate.
This role is to drive the overall sales and community outreach related activities as well as growth and revenue generation for the entire portfolio as assigned or identified within current and future markets. Attainment of senior management census goals is an integral part of this role. This position will work collaboratively with the corporate office on all company initiatives, policies and procedures as needed.
Background in Senior Care helpful.
Primary Responsibilities:
Customer Services/Marketing
Represent the residence to the community, family members, and visitors and develop positive relations with all customers.
Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Assist in giving tours and updating marketing reports as needed.
Participate in outside networking meetings and develop a strong base of community.
Marketing of the residence including developing relationships with local referral sources.
Maintain a high level of occupancy and an active waiting list.
Maintains a professional demeanor when working with residents, families, and community members.
Lead marketing activities such as presentations, seminars and conferences to support client service and business development efforts.
Develop, measure, and improve strategic marketing methods, tools, and support to enable and enhance internal, client, and community relationships.
Responsible for giving tours and remains current in the knowledge of the residence for marketing purposes.
Collaborates with Resident Care Director with internal public relations and marketing.
Performs assessments on individuals prior to admission.
General Management
Ensure Weekly marketing reports are generated.
Answer incoming referrals coming in via phone / email.
Assist with advertising, flyers and mail outs, and marketing events as needed.
Complies data of all marketing and admission efforts.
Review daily any and all communication tools used in providing resident care.
Identify and communicate market trends and new business potential.
Look for opportunities to build and maintain business relationships and other key business partnerships to grow business.
Actively participates with problem-complain resolution to attain satisfaction for the residents and families.
Assist in maintaining marketing materials, ordering and supplies as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be proficient in grammar, spelling and punctuation and have accurate proofreading skills.
Previous experience in Marketing, Business or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong interpersonal skills and effective relationship building capacity with team members and external partners.
Strong project management and organizational skills, including attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Desire to work with older adults

Physical Job Requirements
To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical tasks for extended periods of time. When supporting, lifting or transferring residents, proper body mechanics and safety measures as prescribed by the residence must be used.
In a typical eight-hour day, employee will
Stand/walk up to eight hours a day
Sit up to eight hours a day
Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds
Occasionally kneel, bend and reach
Secure proper assistance for transferring and lifting of residents as needed
