Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Talent Acquisition – Operations is responsible for implementing and managing strategic recruitment and employment programs. As United Airlines continues to grow and scale, this role will be integral in helping the team shape and evolve our recruiting and sourcing strategies.

• Build and develop a team of Recruiters and Sourcers and putting them in the best position to be successful to support our Technical Operations organization to complete searches and meet or exceed performance metrics.
• Lead the process of hiring quality employees that support the overall business objectives and support the current and future workforce needs.
• Build and cultivate relationships with hiring leaders and act as a trusted advisor to drive talent strategy and create measurable business impact
• Lead with an agile approach, focused on problem solving through creative solutions, and thrive in an environment where growth and change are the only constants
• Implement enterprise-wide strategies to ensure equity at all stages of the recruiting process, constantly seeking ways to ensure access to opportunity for all qualified applicants
• Effectively partner with an ecosystem of team members, including the business, HR, FP&A, and TA programs
• Champion the data driven recruiting approach, using data and analytics to tell stories and drive sponsorship for critical initiatives
• Bring a strong voice, functional expertise, and fun personality to the TA leadership team
• Sponsor and drive projects across the TA Roadmap to drive us towards innovation and world-class recruiting
• Partner with Marketing as a commercial engine to achieve growth

This position is Hybrid and based in Houston.

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelors’ degree or 12+ years equivalent work experience
• 7+ years’ experience leading a TA function (ie. High volume recruiting supporting operational groups along with management and administrative roles)
• Inspirational leader who encourages team to take on new challenges and over-deliver on expectations
• Proven track record of compassionate leadership with strong coaching skills
• Hardworking commitment to developing talent on the team
• Ability to coach leaders throughout the business on Talent Acquisition strategy and best practices
• Experience driving enterprise-wide strategies within a recruiting organization
• Uses data from a variety of internal and external sources to tell a story and drive investment in TA strategies and initiatives
• Innovative attitude: ability to design, build and pilot initiatives that drive desired outcomes; can scale successful programs
• Strong track-record in inclusion recruiting with a track record of success in building strategies to attract and hire under-represented talent
• Voice of leadership / thought leader who translates conviction to inspiration; knowledgeable about current market trends and competitive data
• Experience with the oversight of data integrity, reporting requirements, and key accountability metrics
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

• 5+ years of experience leading an operations recruiting function
