We are a national company seeking a Human Resource Generalist & Safety Representative to join our team in the Lincoln, NE location which has about 400 total employees. This position will report to the Regional HR Manager.

Pay range starts at $55,000, Pay range dependent upon Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.

HR Generalist Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding:

• Assist the Recruiter with full life cycle recruiting (conducting job intake interviews with hiring managers, creating and posting job descriptions, screening and interviewing candidates, pre-employment testing, onboarding, paperwork, I9 verification, creation in HRIS, creation of badges, etc.)
• Conduct new hire orientation on a weekly basis with team members
• Maintain strong partnerships with managers on staffing needs, goals, and maintains a working understanding of the business need to project staffing needs
• Reporting and analysis of staffing needs, goals and metrics surrounding effective recruiting techniques

HR Operations:

• Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate team members
• Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations

• Maintain accurate data in the HRIS system and employee personnel files
• Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
• Ensure the effective implementation of HR plans, projects and programs to positively impact the results

• Handle any minor tasks related to duties of the position

Safety:

• Engage in safety processes to maintain an audit-ready working environment
• Assist team members in near miss and incident reporting, as well as investigations/lessons learned regarding safety incidents
• Files workers comp claims and maintain the OSHA log
• Participate in the monthly Safety Committee
• Implement and drive safety initiatives and projects to create a safe working environment

HR Generalist Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred
• One year of human resource experience required, two or more years preferred
• Knowledge of federal, state, local laws and regulations that impact human resources and the employment relationship required
• Knowledge of OSHA and other governmental regulations; incident and accident prevention preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and applications, Applicant Tracking systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and convincingly convey instructions, directions, and details to others
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, especially around employee privacy
• Ability to manage all duties, responsibilities, tasks and other components of the job accurately
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of diverse personalities and backgrounds for a tangible and beneficial outcome

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• This position operates in an office environment located within a manufacturing facility and perform work in different elements of the operation including the production operation environment.
