Summary of Job Duties:
The Director of Teacher Development will collaborate with the Teacher Development Team in leading the planning and facilitation of Arkansas Teacher Corps (ATC) professional development throughout the school year and summer institute. Primary responsibilities will include coordinating training and development, managing part-time facilitators, and ensuring a high-quality, responsive professional development program by regularly soliciting feedback from fellows, alumni, and external partners. The Director will also support with the planning and execution of the seven-week Summer Institute, the ATC coaching program, and regular evaluations of ATC fellows. The Director may be called upon to assist with the development of new coaches and/or to coach fellows as needed.
The ATC Director of Teacher Development will also collaborate with the ATC Director of Partnerships and Teacher Development Team to support ATC Fellows in meeting all requirements for a provisional license by the end of their first year and a standard teaching license by the end of the three-year fellowship. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with the recruitment and selection of ATC fellows; supporting annual evaluations of the ATC program; communicating with ATC staff and partner schools regarding Fellows’ progress; and supporting struggling Fellows through targeted support plans and differentiated interventions.
The is a one-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role. The Director of Teacher Development must be able and willing to travel across the state by automobile and be available to work some nights and weekends. The Director must also be available for the seven-week Summer Institute for incoming Fellows which will require them to live and work on-site during portions of the summer training.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Salary Information:
$52,000 – $55,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
