The candidate selected for this position will:
1) Review plan filings and receipts for proper posting to determine validity of account balances. Examine plans to ensure compliance with proper financial and related accounting procedures and premium regulations.
2) Participate in a broad array of activities, such as monitoring premium receipts, financial reporting, data integrity and on-going systems operations to ensure the correctness of income and accounts receivable data for corporate reports.
3) Assist the supervisor, team lead and others in planning fiscal year-end financial activities and other special tasks having an impact on the premium accounting policies and procedures of the corporation.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the private sector ensuring the accuracy of income and accounts receivable data to perform financial reporting and analyze the full range of premium related financial issues. Examples include: performing reconciliations of premium receipts, reviewing and approving refund requests, and reviewing waiver requests.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term “accounting” means “accounting and/or auditing” in this standard. Similarly, “accountant” should be interpreted, generally, as “accountant and/or auditor.”)

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant’s background must also include one of the following:
