Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes analyzing and evaluating licensing, certification and/or practices regarding individuals or entities operating in international trade or transportation to prepare reports or recommendations; reviewing/assessing maritime transportation business practices and procedures and compliance with import/export procedures in the U.S. international trade; participating in audits of books and records of regulated entities or participants involved in the international trade or transportation activities; evaluating need for edits, updates or license amendments; facilitating communication with agency headquarters contacts, the maritime industry, and the general public.
GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes reviewing/assessing maritime transportation business practices and procedures and information obtained from case files, commercial and agency databases to determine suspected violations of shipping statutes and regulations; participating as lead analyst in audits of books and records of regulated entities or participants involved in the international trade or transportation activities; assisting or coordinating the audit programs and facilitating efficient and effective management of the program, including advising less experienced analysts; identifying problems with data and advising less experienced analysts on appropriate techniques/strategies for further fact-finding/investigation; facilitating communication with agency headquarters contacts, the maritime industry, and the general public.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
