Requirements, Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work as a member of the team with teamwork and safety as a central focus.
• Safely install and repair underground/buried telecom systems; conduit/cable/coax/fiber buried telecom systems.
• Have at least 1 year experience in the utility construction industry, Telecom preferred.
• Have working knowledge of conduit systems, coax and fiber optic cable.
• Be comfortable digging trenches with common hand tools such as shovels, rakes, picks, axes, etc.
• Be comfortable working with common power tools, Sawzall’s, Skillsaws, razor knives, drills, cut off wheels, etc.
• Must have the ability to work efficiently and follow directions, think ahead and use independent judgement.

· Read and interpret plans and specifications.

• Must understand or complete required training related to job duties as outlined by OSHA, DOT, etc.
• Maintain clean working environments, company vehicles, organized payload areas on vehicles, etc.
• Understand and recognize utility locate markings and common utility excavation/dig practices.
• Work safely within active traffic control devices
• Work comfortably and safely around heavy equipment, backhoe, excavators, rock saws, HDD/Bore rigs, etc.
• Perform duties in confined spaces for extended periods of time such as manholes, vaults, etc.
• Ability to lift and/or pull up to 100lbs up to several times each day. Pulling fiber, cable, pull line, moving equip., etc.
• Vision and hearing to be able to safely perform duties, differentiate size and color, verbal que’s, etc.
• Hand and finger dexterity to carry and to use tools and equipment as necessary.
• Ability to work while standing 80 – 90% of the time.
• Knowledge to perform site restoration to established landscaping after construction is complete.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must possess a current State of Idaho driver license and have a good driving record.
• Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Pay & Benefits:

We offer competitive wages, fully paid medical benefits and available overtime. This position pays between $20.00 and $30.00 per hour DOE.

Working conditions:

We operate is various locations within the Pacific Northwest where temperatures and conditions vary. You must be able to tolerate changes in outside temperature from winter to summer, tolerate dust, pollen, wind, snow and mud and rain.
