Position Summary:
The primary function is to Supervise HR Supervisors and Store HR/Safety Compliance Specialist performance, assist in developing HR Supervisors and Store HR/Safety Compliance Specialist to their full potential; engage with the HR team in the implementation of all programs, including ongoing training and support to ensure maximum results. This position supports the Director of Human Resources in all aspects of HR, including, but not limited to, developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing HR policies, programs, functions, and activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the Director in the daily administration of HR Supervisors and Store HR/Safety Compliance Specialist duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to recruitment, investigations, leave of absence, meal period compliance, HR policies compliance, and health benefits.
- Assists in the selection process of HR Supervisors and Store HR/Safety Compliance Specialists.
- Supervise HR Supervisor and Store HR/Safety Compliance Specialist performance, assist in developing HR Supervisor and Store HR/Safety Compliance Specialist to their full potential; engages with the HR team in the implementation of all programs, including ongoing training and support to ensure maximum results, with emphasis on Store HR/Safety Compliance Specialist receiving support from store directors and supervisors.
- Assists the Director in planning, organizing, and controls of all HR programs and policies, and department training and development efforts.
- Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; upon approval of new policies, or revised policies, and prepares notification for team member communication.
- Audits Corporate and Store HR reports for accuracy and recommends new applications for improvements in the efficiency of department and services performed.
- Analyze and report on organizational trends based on HR data, create and monitor key performance indicators and provide recommendations to improve metrics.
- Leverage and fully utilize the HRIS system to create and maintain HR processes in a sustainable and scalable way.
- Works with Recruitment Manager to prepare and re-write store and corporate job descriptions as necessary and distribute upon approval from HR Director and/or Vice President of Human Resource.
- Upon direction, prepares and updates standard operating procedures (SOP) for the human resource department.
- Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management. Identify trends that could impact organizational objectives.
- Assist in reviewing investigations and providing resolution of ongoing employee relations problems, anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, and recommend appropriate steps for resolution.
- Interacts with community and state employment agencies for recruitment of store personnel; coordinates recruitment events as directed for existing or new store openings.
- Assists the Director in evaluating department needs; meets with HR service vendors for innovative ideas and recommends cost-effective services, programs, etc.
- Assists the Director in the coordination of team member relations activities, including but not limited to team member engagement programs, and coordinating benefits open enrollment meetings.
- Participates in strategic planning and presides over meetings as needed.
- Confers regularly with HR Supervisor to review developments, problems, and plans of action.
- Prepares along with HR Supervisors’ conference call agendas.
- Participates in Store HR/Safety Compliance Specialist weekly conference calls, quarterly meetings, and regional meetings.
- Supervises HR Supervisor and Store HR training and development; works with the training department, when needed, to develop and facilitate professional development and training programs.
- Prepare HR Supervisor evaluation and ensure HR Supervisor prepare and provide team members evaluations timely.
- Creates and manages the annual calendar of activities for HR Supervisors; ensures annual templates of reports are ready and accessible by the start of the year such as prescreen log, prescreen stats, weekly hiring needs log, monthly HR/SD recap report, and HR Supervisor assigned responsibilities.
- Supports operations and store management by providing advice on personnel issues such as job performance concerns or alleged team member misconduct in accordance with employment laws and Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure the highest levels of customer service are upheld for all processes/functions within the purview of this position
- Provides leadership in the absence of the Director or on behalf of the Director as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
- HR generalist knowledge required.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Five years of human resource supervisor/manager experience required.
Physical Demands:
- Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
- May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to team members and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other team members accurately, clearly, or quickly.
- Manage several requests and situations at one time or simultaneously (multitask).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a management, exempt level position, and must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by operations (any day of the week and different schedule shifts as needed).
