Job Responsibilities
The People & Culture team’s primary focus is to build people and organizational capability by translating business strategy into people strategy and results. We are dedicated to retaining, developing, rewarding, and motivating employees through a variety of different initiatives.
As the People & Culture Operations Coordinator (Temporary Worker), you will primarily partner with our COVID-19 Core Team to support employees in response efforts to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our COVID-19 Core Team is comprised of leaders within our People and Culture, Safety, and Legal team.
Your primary responsibilities will be to coordinate case management efforts activities and investigate potential cases by collecting, tracking, and communicating across international teams to support our employees. You will report to the People & Culture Operations Specialist and be supported in your role by our Business Partners and Rep Team. Additionally, this role will support ad-hoc projects and transactional tasks across P&C.
Daily activities include but are not limited to:
Responds to employees (by phone and email) that report COVID-19 related symptoms or potential exposure with appropriate guidance.
Escalates potential cases to COVID-19 Core Team, People & Culture Business Partner and Rep Team, and managers.
Partners with managers to identify employees potentially exposed in the event of a COVID-19 positive or presumed positive employee to perform contact tracing.
Interviews employees and obtaining the necessary information for tracking purposes and potential contact tracing.
Maintains contact with employees through the self-quarantine process and provides any necessary back to work briefing.
Contributes towards reporting as part by entering cases and making updates
Contributes towards process improvement efforts by updating scripts and guidance
Report relevant case information to external vendors based on requirements
Coordinate across teams to perform administrative May assist with tasks for P&C-related activities other People & Culture administrative tasks.
Requirements:
2+ years’ experience in a customer-oriented or administrative role
1+ years of experience in an HR specialist/coordinator role or other related experience
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills in a collaborative team environment
Experience handling sensitive and confidential information
Demonstrated experience exercising judgment as part of performing tasks
Skilled in effectively conveying information to individuals at various organizational levels
Strong time-management, detail orientation, and prioritization skills to multi-task competing requirements in a timely and accurate manner
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrates personal initiative in problem-solving
Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferences:
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, with a focus in business, communication, human resources, or related majors.
1+ years of experience in an HR specialist/coordinator role or other related experience.
Experience in a mid-large size high tech, growth company preferred.
Covid-19 contact tracing or case management experience.
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, with a focus in business, human resources, or related majors.
If the Federal Executive Order for Government Contractors becomes effective, this role may require vaccination. In such instance, absent an approved accommodation based on a religious or medical reason, employees in this role will be required to be fully vaccinated no later than applicable deadlines, which are unknown at this point. Viasat will strive to give individuals as much notice as practicable if a vaccine mandate becomes applicable to this role.
