The HR Generalist reports to the Business Unit HR Partner/Leader, and is responsible for efficient day-to-day delivery of Employee Relations, Benefits Administration, Performance Mgmt, Onboarding and Staffing support. This role ensures routine HR activities within the assigned business unit are in compliance with company policy, labor laws and other regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations: Serves as first-line/triage for personnel issues and employee support.
Compliance: Provides oversight and applies correct practices to ensure routine personnel transactions (terms, promotions, org changes, hires, etc.) are performed within policy & regulatory guidelines. Leverages systems to ensure data and documentation are accurate and in place. (DOL, HIPPA, EEO/AAP, Vets, etc.)
Staffing: Assists with coordinating recruiting activities and processing of hiring/terminations. May occasionally serve as a supplemental resource on sourcing/screening/interviewing candidates during peak hiring periods.
HR Systems & Reporting: Performs transactions in HRIS systems to ensure complete and accurate data. Runs & distributes workforce reports. Serves as SME for employee self-service functionality and manager tools within HRIS system. Maintains employee-facing information sources (intranet, onboarding platforms, etc.)
Onboarding/Retention Program: collaborates in both the delivery and ongoing upkeep of Onboarding processes, content and program. Assists larger HR team in deployment of Retention & Engagement initiatives.
Performance Mgmt: Participates in administering the annual performance review & merit cycles. Supports HR Partner/Leader with Talent Dvlpt & Performance Improvement efforts. Applies Compensation structures/strategy to pay related activities
Benefits Admin: Serve as first-line of support and SME for company Benefit Plans and policies. Serve as liaison with plan providers on issues. Participate in administering the Open Enrollment process.
Other: Participate in process/program/policy improvements across the larger HR enterprise. Collaborate with other HR sub-groups to integrate and streamline operations. Partner with peer role(s) in other business units to provide surge and backup support.
Qualifications:
HR Degree or related HR certifications (PHR, SHRM, etc.) strongly preferred.
Solid working knowledge of Labor/Employment Laws & Compliance (DOL, HIPPA, EEO/AAP, etc.).
3-5 yrs HR generalist experience across various of Personnel & Policy Admin, Employee Relations, Benefits, Performance, Compliance, etc.
