Western National is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team!
Our HR Business Partner will serve as a consultant to management on Human Resources related business issues and act as an employee champion and change agent. They will assess and anticipate Human Resources needs for assigned business units and proactively communicate needs with members of the Human Resources Team and leadership to identify and develop integrated solutions. This role offers continuous opportunities for developing partnerships within Human Resources and delivering valued services to management and employees that support company objectives and meet specific needs of the assigned business units.
This position will support business units in Edina, MN and Anchorage, AK. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel to Anchorage, AK at a minimum of quarterly.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and team effectiveness.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues to include gathering relevant information, facts and/or data and gaining involvement from relevant parties to influence positive outcomes.
Provide ongoing guidance regarding performance management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary action, terminations, etc).
Assess and provide feedback on compensation decisions. Review teams for internal equity, providing coaching as needed. Ensure individual leader decisions related to pay align with organizational goals.
Provide guidance and input to leaders regarding job design and creation, organization restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
Work closely with HR leadership, talent acquisition, and business leaders to support recruitment strategies, measurable goals, objectives, and metrics in conjunction with budgetary and headcount guidelines. Partner with leaders to determine staffing and skill requirements to meet business needs and proactively implement plans to satisfy those requirements.
In partnership with Talent Acquisition and business leaders, ensure that new employee onboarding activities/efforts are complete, effective, and efficient and meet the needs of the new hire and the hiring department. Assist with facilitating onboarding trainings.
Act as a first point of contact for leaders and employees regarding benefits, FMLA/Leave of Absence and/or work accommodation requests as and when needed.
Partner with Learning and Development team to align strategies with the needs of the business. Identify training needs for employees and leaders and partner with L&D on implementation/facilitation of programs.
Work with HR Shared Services and local resources to implement health and wellness programs that encourage and support the general well-being of employees.
Qualifications:
What is a must have?
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related degree or equivalent blend of education and experience
3+ years of Human Resources experience with demonstrated skills in employee relations, coaching, talent development, Human Resources consulting, change management, and team building
Professional communication skills with a history of building strong business partnerships
Comfort with presenting in front of groups
Ability to influence
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Proven collaborator
Strong sense of urgency and a proactive approach
What will our ideal candidate have?
Human Resources certification
Experience with compensation best practices specific to market pricing, job analysis, internal equity reviews, and incentive pay structure administration
Solid project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, leverage support resources, and establish/meet deadlines
Compensation overview
The full hiring range for this role is 68,200-102,300. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
