The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department at the location including hiring staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties include:
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to employee time and attendance, payroll, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Act as a culture and workplace champion by making employees feel at home and supported.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Communicate with headquarters office, located in Quebec (French speaking)
Other Admin or Executive Assistant type duties such as scheduling; reviewing, prioritizing and responding to emails; answering and returning phone calls; organizing documents; maintaining records; taking notes at meetings and any other administrative tasks that help the executive perform their job.
Qualifications you should have:
2+ years of experience as an HR Generalist. Equivalent experience as an Executive Assistant or Administrator will also be considered.
Must speak French and English (bilingual)
Manufacturing industry experience preferred
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
