Buy sod USA, a multi-state agribusiness with sod farms in the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Georgia is looking to hire a motivated Training and Development Manager to join and support our Human Resources team.
Reporting to the People and Culture Director, this position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives, identifies and designs appropriate training solutions for employees and interprets trends and metrics.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop and cultivate a training culture that reflects the value of safety, leadership, information share, customer service, process improvement, professional development, and cultural awareness.
In collaboration with the People and Culture Director, assess training and development needs to identify organization and departmental training program design, budget, and implementation objectives to support employee success.
Work closely with Department Managers and Directors to understand training needs and develop. training plans accordingly as priorities allow.
Recommend appropriate training methods or activities based on the audience, environment, and content
Implement performance metrics to track and analyze training effectiveness.
Assist in the identification of employee development and succession planning opportunities utilizing implemented performance metrics.
Oversee all training programs, with the ability to facilitate when necessary to support needs.
Develop remote and onsite learning curriculums in order to support all staff in all locations.
Develop and implement training materials and ensure materials and curriculum are relevant for existing and evolving company needs.
Manage and monitor course enrollment and completion, providing metrics when needed.
Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices.
In collaboration with the People and Culture Director, conduct employee satisfaction/engagement survey, report results and assist in creating action plans.
Design, conduct and extract trends through “stay” and “exit” interviews.
Act as an ambassador for the Culture of the organization and continually strive to implement training that focuses on creating the best possible productive working environment.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development or similar field or equivalent experience.
5+ years’ experience in a role concentrating on content development, individual and group training, and the measurement of training impact.
Demonstrated ability in project management and/or implementation of new processes, initiatives, or programs in Talent Development.
Ability to build programs in all business segments from Senior Leadership to Equipment Operation Certification.
Requires organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
Understanding of the importance of company culture, and its power to drive success.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to connect with others in genuine and meaningful ways.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills matched by strong project management capabilities.
Must demonstrate ability to be a team player and build positive working relationships with others.

Ability to manage staff resources ensuring productivity and a positive work environment.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn/utilize company software. Ability to travel as needed (approx. 50%).
