Blackbird is seeking a Human Resources/Talent leader to help build the HR function while supporting a growing business. This position is responsible for executing on the HR strategy for the company, while working directly with functional leaders. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability in partnering with a scaling a business, previously been a part of growing an HR function and be willing and able to roll up their sleeves to solve the challenges that come with a quickly changing business. This position will partner with the leadership team to plan, develop, and direct HR/talent policies, processes and programs in support of current and future business needs.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the leadership team to understand the organization’s goals and strategy to create an inclusive and engaged workforce.
Develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s evolving needs.
Plan and execute the build-out of the HR function and overall employee experience in areas of recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compensation, payroll, HRIS, compliance, performance management, development, and employee engagement.
Work cross functionally with other areas of Blackbird to proactively identify HR/talent challenges and create impactful solutions to address them.
Own the recruitment process with the ability to adapt and develop standard processes for scale including sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, offers and onboarding.
Identify staffing and recruiting needs in partnership with business leaders; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) and/or talent management system. Leverage trends for HR/talent recommendations.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to leadership.
In partnership with leadership, develop and manage departmental budget.
When needed, hire, develop and retain HR/Talent team.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of HR and recruiting management experience in a fast-paced environment including prioritizing and concurrently managing a diverse set of priorities.
Business travel as needed

Previous experience working in a high-growth healthcare environment, adept at managing through change.
Analytical and process mindset, focused on building, implementing, and tracking the success of companywide HR/Talent programs.
A self-starter with a proven ability to operate at a strategic and execution level.
Operates with a high degree of integrity and trust, ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Ability to adapt verbal and written communication skills across varying levels of audiences.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and deliverables.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Google Suite software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management system – Rippling.
