Position Summary:

Under the Leadership of the North American/Europe SR Manager of Human Resources, the HR Generalist with provide support for all human resources related activities. including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, onboarding, payroll, and policy administration. Accountable for support all salary and hourly employees and management through effective communication and administration across all functions of the US.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist SR HR Manager with the development and execution of HR policy, change programs, strategic HR initiatives and projects across the business (restructures, people transitions, performance management, employee opinion surveys, talent programs, management development, succession planning etc.).
• Provide input to the design of HR policy, programs, projects, methodologies and solutions in support of business’ projects for greater co-ordination and consistency of approach.
• Updating and maintaining HR policies, and associated documents such as letter templates and process flows.
• Assist Payroll Administrator with payroll needs such as payroll processing, time & attendance, personnel changes in systems, updates, corrections and other functions as needed.
• Assist Payroll Administrator with employee benefits as needed.
• Assist with the recruitment process to ensure hourly production, and temporary labor staffing needs are met at the location and assist with salaried employee recruitment.
• Assist with the onboarding process including conducing the new hire orientations/benefits programs and exit interviews, and educating employees on benefits, policies and procedures.
• Provide HR Manager with monthly labor, headcount, and other reports required internally and externally as needed.
• Maintain positive employee relations by ensuring a proactive, open environment to facilitate employee communication and responding to employee concerns.
• Coach supervisors on performance, employee relations, employee development and other HR related issues.
• Keep the HR department operations updated on employment laws to ensure compliance with all HR-related governmental regulations and federal/state/local laws.
• Manage of HRIS systems and data integrity.

• Basic knowledge around employment law (MI, CA) and Health and Welfare plans
• Understanding how to effectively enable change.
• Proficiency knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities, with keen attention to detail.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite, and excellent computer skills
• Proven critical thinking skills and complex problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt to system/technology changes as well as use of current systems.
• Ability to act with confidentiality and carefully handle employee information, files, and sensitive matters.
• Establish and maintain positive “customer” relationships at all levels of the organization.

Required Education/Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of hands-on Human Resources experience – OR – Five (5) years of hands-on Human Resources experience.
• Experience assessing employee conflicts and investigations as well as bringing effective solutions to supervisors and managers.
• Experience working with ADP, Workforce Now and SAP
