JOB SUMMARY: Performs administrative functions in the human resources department in one or more of a variety of Human Resource areas such as payroll, recruitment, benefit administration, employee relations, civic involvement, workers compensation, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Monitors and maintains production staffing levels in accordance with established guidelines. Conducts employee orientation sessions and processes all related paperwork.
· Processes changes in employee status, wage/salary, benefits, etc… Collects, enters and maintains employee data in HRMS or other systems.
· Processes employee separations of employment, employment verifications, may conduct exit interviews and may assist in completing unemployment claims.
· Creates and maintains various files for recordkeeping and reporting purposes in accordance with applicable regulations and Company procedures.
· Coordinates various employee communications via bulletin boards, newsletters, meetings, etc.
· Organizes employee welfare activities such as social events, special benefits, civic involvement, employee recognition, etc.
· Conducts investigations to gather information for a variety of sources in response to employee concerns and complaints.
· Processes employee leaves of absence (ie FMLA, STD, LTD, etc.) in accordance with government regulations, company policies and insurance plans.
· Assists in administering employee benefit programs including enrollments, changes, terminations, etc
· Processing payroll for all departments.
· Assists with training initiatives and coordination.
· Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, co-workers, clients and supervisors.
· Performs other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
· High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 – 5 years’ experience in Human Resources.
· Basic knowledge and understanding of fundamental employment laws such as ADA, FMLA, and Worker’s Compensation as well as familiarity with OSHA and OFCCP regulations and compliance.
· Excellent communications skills, verbal and written. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with and build and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of personnel.
· Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
· Must be able to work independently without close supervision to make sound decisions based on policy/Company practice.
· PC skills with knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and familiarity with ADP.
