Starting Salary: $44,808.00
This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City’s collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) – BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

Under supervision, performs a variety of clerical duties relative to personnel administration for the Department of Planning & Development and the Department of Housing, and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Prepares and processes documents necessary to implement personnel actions such as employee indebtedness, name and address changes, employment verifications, and ensures that required forms are completed, submitted, logged, and filed
Creates and maintains spreadsheets to track workforce data (e.g. Reasonable Accommodations, Dual Employment, Absenteeism, Professional Development/Trainings, Appointments, Resignations, Promotions, Disciplinary Actions, Legal Matters, Grievances, etc.)
Maintains employee personnel, payroll, and timekeeping records and files
Prepares orientation packets for all new hires
Preforms timekeeping data entry and runs timekeeping reports
Coordinates bi-monthly payroll and timesheet distribution
Coordinates employee trainings with DHR, Directions, and other training vendors
Responds to employee inquiries regarding personnel paperwork and timekeeping matters
Additional duties may be required for this position
Location: City Hall, 10th Floor
Days: Monday – Friday
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year of personnel/human resources work experience OR at least 30 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a directly related field.
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a skills assessment as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
Proficiency working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher
Previous administrative/clerical experience in a professional office setting
