Provides professional level assistance to the Community Development Department in implementing, administering and developing economic development initiatives and maintaining incentive program activities. Provide technical expertise to staff, other agencies, program participants, and the community. Assists in supporting the County’s economic development program and redevelopment activities, including efforts focused on the retention and expansion of existing businesses and efforts to bring in specific targeted business’s to the County; Coordinates with economic development consultants and other industry professionals, County staff and developers to include the preparation of development agreements, develops and executes marketing and business development efforts, coordinates with other County and City agencies, and follows up on business leads/interested parties. Assists the Community Development Department in managing special projects in other areas of planning as assigned.
Additional Duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education. Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in urban or regional planning, marketing, economic development, business or public administration, economics, or related field. Masters degree in urban or regional planning, marketing, economic development, business or public administration, economics, or related field preferred.
Experience. Four (4) years of professional level experience in economic development, marketing, research, business development, commercial real estate/development, urban planning, community development and/or redevelopment and 1 year of supervisory experience.
Education/Experience substitution. In accordance with County Policy.
Licenses/Certifications. Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with County policy.
