Position Summary
This Human Resources consultant will report to the Director, HR Business Partner and work closely with various HRBPs on the team. As a Human Resources Consultant, you will build collaborative relationships and advise business leaders through critical and complex issues. Employees at this level solve basic and intermediate problems in human resource areas aligned to HRBPs with general supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop intermediate and some advanced skills along with the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is basic and intermediate as well as varied.
Responsibilities
Works closely with HRBP Director coordinating major HR initiatives across assigned client business units such as Talent Planning, Year End Compensation, WorkSmart, Engagement, etc.
Through this work, knowledge of the organization, procedures and customer base is expected to grow.
Monitors and analyzes data associated with assigned organizational areas to identify trends, mitigate risks and recommend solutions.
Uses information and trends to develop a compelling story for change or in support of a particular action to drive outcomes supporting business strategy.
Researches, develops,and/or evaluates programs, policies or activities within the discipline which have limited impact or level of complexity; solves a range of straight forward problems and develops solutions using standardprocedures.
Provides information/consultation to HRBP Director and HRBPs with occasional supervised client interaction. management/assigned customers onHR programs and policies.
Analyzes and understands information, past practices and business objectives to make appropriate recommendations to HR leaders, HRBPs and at time business clients.
Participates in organizational change work,including revamping job descriptions, preparing Workday changes with business leaders and HR Operations and forecasting impacts of change.
Develops positive working relationships with peers, customers, employees and management to effectively complete work activities.
Working Conditions
Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
Required/Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree
In addition to required degree, three (3) years minimum related work experience
In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND 3 years minimum related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND seven (7) years minimum related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
HR experience in a corporate environment
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience reviewing data and trends
Ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required to analyze complex issues, develop logical conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and display effective negotiating skills when dealing with diverse customer expectations.
Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to facilitate large/small groups in an effective manner.
