Medical Office Receptionist Job Responsibilities:
Serves patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; maintaining records and accounts.
Medical Office Receptionist Job Duties:
· Greets patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answers or refers inquiries.
· Optimizes patient satisfaction and providers’ time by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
· Serves as a point of contact for patients before and after their appointment, recording interactions as necessary.
· Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying MA of patients’ arrivals.
· Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions,
and maintaining the reception area.
· Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, entering, and updating personal and insurance/financial information.
· Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; collecting and recording patient copays.
· Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and insurance/financial information.
· Maintains operations by following policies and procedures.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
