Included Health seeks a Senior Director who will lead all facets of our HR Operations, including employee benefits, policies, compliance and self-service support. The role will report directly to the Chief People Officer, working across the entire Talent & Organization (TAO) Team to ensure our HR Operations strategy and practices align with the company’s talent strategies.
This role includes, but is not limited to, leading the team responsible for managing the company’s health and welfare benefits, implementing company-wide policies, managing employee support systems, promoting self-service tools, and scaling our processes to support our growing team. The ideal candidate will partner with leaders across the company, looking for ways to increase efficiency and improve our team member experience.
What You’ll Do
- Lead & manage a high-performing HR Operations Team that ensures our HR policies, processes and practices meet the demands of our growing company.
- Design and manage an innovative benefit offering that attracts and retains great talent, and meets the needs of the changing market and regulatory environment. This includes programs related to health, retirement, leave management, financial and other, differentiated, welfare programs offered to team members.
- Partner with talent leaders to ensure our people practices, processes and systems support our team members in the day-to-day HR tasks and protocols. This includes consistent monitoring, managing and communicating accurate policy information via appropriate channels, i.e., our employee handbook, company intranet, and other key communication mediums.
- Develop tech-enabled self-service modules in Workday in strong partnership with our Workday team. Collaborate with end users to optimize business processes to ensure seamless management to team member experience.
- Manage key compliance practices including audit administration and filings for Affirmative Action, EEO1, Vets 100, Sox Compliance, and Workers Compensation.
- Manage outside consultants and vendors to support key HR Operations initiatives.
- Effectively manage the HR Operations budget to ensure effective program execution.
- Be a thought leader, providing insights, opinions and shaping our people programs and policies across the enterprise.
Required Skills & Abilities
HR Operations Leadership: Proven experience leading a People Operations team, at scale. Demonstrated mastery of HR principles and compliance requirements.
Employee Benefits Expertise: Mastery of employee welfare programs, from design to implementation; including programs related to health, retirement, leave management, financial and differentiated welfare programs that support best-in-class companies.
Optimizing for Scale: Proven experience in developing effective, efficient and scalable processes to support the employee lifecycle from hire to alumni (i.e., onboarding, daily people administration, internal mobility, leave & exit management, etc.).
Drives Results: Able to lead a high-performance team to deliver on results.
Data Driven: Incorporates data analysis and critical thinking when interpreting information and uses people analytics to guide, influence and prioritize their work.
Partnership & Collaboration: Builds strong partnerships and works collaboratively with team members at all levels.
Innovation: Ability to build best-in-class HR programs that are unique, progressive and positions the company to attract, retain and grow top talent.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15+ years of HR Operations experience with at least 7+ years of experience leading the direction of multiple functions within HR
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or in a related field
- Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and best HR operations practices
- Proven Employee Benefit experience including knowledge of health and welfare plans, leaves and time off practices, and retirement plans
- Workday experience required, experience with Jira, and Anaplan preferred
- Hands-on experience with all functional areas of HR including previous responsibility for managing HR Operations, Payroll, HRIS, Leave of Absence management, Workers Compensation administration, Onboarding, Hiring, Terminations, HR Programs, etc.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced change
- Ability to meet independently with senior leaders and present to them with confidence, impact and influence
- Ability to lead, influence, and motivate individuals and teams
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and empathize with others and anticipate, respond, and pivot to the needs of the employees and business
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with total discretion.
