Freight Broker responsibilities include the searching for shipments to or from different clients, negotiating contracts
and acting as an intermediary between the carrier and the shipper. You should be familiar with freight logistics and freight rates. Organizational skills and problem-solving skills are essential while you need to weight different factors to complete your job. Being multi-task oriented is also important. You will also handle various communications like phone calls and emails while dealing with various carriers and brokers. Our ideal candidate has strong communication skills, is computer literate and is able to achieve high quality standards. You will be responsible for performing day-to-day tasks for the company, such as finding clients, negotiating contracts, tracking time spent on assignments and analyzing efficiency levels.

Responsibilities:

• Determine a method to transport the goods from the shipper to the consignee .
• Research freight market prices and freight quotes.
• Compile and analyze information from various sources to determine proper shipping methods based on budget and timeframe .
• Negotiate with a carrier to ensure competitive rates and proper pickup and delivery times for a shipment .
• Arrange for pickup of goods at shipper’s location, preparation, loading and delivery to consignee’s location.
• Work with shipping clerks to verify manifests, clearances and prepare shipping documents .
• Monitor carrier’s activities, such as billings, process payments, track shipments and respond to customer inquiries.
• Manage broker’s office by scheduling appointments, managing inventory of shipping supplies, resolving customer problems or complaints.
• Resolve any transport-related disputes between the shipper and the carrier.

Compensation:

25% commission of every closed account recurring monthly this is 1099 contractor position and you can set your own hours.

We’re located in BNY Melon you would be working from the office.

Pay: $56,809.00 – $68,656.00 per year
