Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. (Flexibility required to best support internal customers and HR Department needs)
Job Summary
The HR Business Partner 1 (HRBP) builds strong working relationships with the business leaders they support, primarily on 3rd shift. Acquires a deep knowledge of the business unit, employees and business processes. Acts as a point of HR contact for shift leadership and employees. Advises on employment issues and delivers value-added services to the business unit.
This position will support 3rd shift business units in cooperation with other HR professionals assigned to the unit. This is will receive support and limited guidance from other HRBP’s. This position could advance to an HRBP2 role depending on performance and meeting experience and educational requirements.
Employee Relations: Works in conjunction with business leaders and employees to promote positive employee relations to ensure appropriate governance, compliance and risk management.
Workforce Planning: Contributes to the development of the workforce plan and understands the needs of the business unit. Supports the selection of key talent, both internally and externally, for assigned business unit.
Performance Management: Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to business leaders (e.g. coaching, counseling, career development, corrective action, etc.). Assists business leaders in the facilitation and accomplishment of goal setting and development plans.
Organizational Planning & Development: Functions as an objective consultant to business leaders with regard to organizational issues which impact people (training, organizational structure, change management, promotions, job profiles, career, succession planning, etc.).
McKee Operating System: Promotes a Mutual Learning Workplace by personal practice and by training. Supports the adoption and implementation of the McKee Operating System and other lean management principles.
Other Duties: Manages projects that are assigned (e.g. payroll support, unemployment, investigations, suspensions, etc.). Presents key findings and results from projects to stakeholders. Provides guidance and training on Human Resource and Time Keeping systems such as Workday and Kronos,
Promotes teamwork and information sharing across departments. Meets with HR counterparts (i.e. HRBPs, EHS, Safety, Training) on a routine and frequent basis. Maintains open channels of communication with Department personnel through email, phone, personal meetings, webex and other messaging tools.
Assists with facilitating team meetings and training programs. Drives implementation of key initiatives and improvements.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of related HR or McKee Foods supervisory experience
Knowledge and understanding of employment and labor laws
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Certification in HR Field (i.e. aPHR, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
HR Business Partner or HR Generalist experience
McKee Foods production experience
Training, certification or experience conducting investigations (employment related)
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean principles & tools)
