This is a new role! We are looking for an HR Manager who will lead the people operations of our metal manufacturing operation. We want someone who can think strategically, identify opportunities, provide solutions, has a voice, and is a valued partner on our team.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Ensure the organization is in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Stay up-to-date on HR law, compliance, and trends.
Manage the recruiting and onboarding processes for the organization. Partner with leadership to develop staffing plans to meet the organizational goals
Keep a finger on the pulse with employee engagement and retention and proactively partner with leadership to stay out ahead of issues. Creatively come up with ideas around engagement and retention efforts.
Establish HR processes and procedures to create efficiencies.
Will develop, implement, and manage a performance management program for the organization.
Make recommendations around compensation strategy and planning.
Develop and partner with appropriate resources to build and execute Career Pathways. Manage all training programs and use data to track program effectiveness. Provide training and development ideas and solutions.
Partner with the Workforce Development Center to explore, research, and implement available training grants.
Work closely with payroll to ensure employee pay changes, benefit deductions, separations, etc. are processed in a timely manner.
In conjunction with the management team, evaluate and make recommendations on the benefits plan. Conduct open enrollment, track eligibility and enroll employees in various employee benefit plans (health/dental insurance, 401(k) plan, etc.). Administer all aspects of company benefits including addressing plan questions, COBRA administration, and ACA.
Conduct employee surveys to assess employee satisfaction and areas of improvement and makes suggestions to management.
Will coordinate and manage employee led roots groups within the organization that align with our overall goals and strategy to achieve those goals.
Ensure all job descriptions are current and compliant and work closely with management to develop to new job descriptions as needed.
Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution.
Manage worker’s compensation claims and the process and responsible for OSHA reporting.
Respond to various information requests from governmental and other agencies (unemployment claims, verifications of employment, child support orders, etc.)
Is the community outreach designee. Participates in hiring fairs, open houses, government/community panel discussion or presentations.
Create and maintain complete and confidential electronic files on each employee. Own HR related record maintenance, retention, and destruction.
Open and willing to address other non HR tasks, such as, but not limited to: event planning, open house tours, IT projects and data entry, back filling for other positions as needed due to absenteeism.
What you bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
5 years of experience in Human Resources
Experience with successfully developing and implementing new initiatives, processes, and programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to tune into/connect with your audience and meet them where they are at.
Strong organizational skills, attention-to-detail, excellent time management, and proven ability to meet deadlines.
A positive attitude that permeates throughout the organization. A natural ability to motivate and engage employees.
High comfort level with using Microsoft Office products
Bilingual in English and Spanish would be helpful
PHR/SPHR preferred
Wage & Benefits:
The salary for this position is budgeted at $85-$100,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
