The Training and Development Manager will serve as a critical member of our team with comprehensive involvement in all Mighty franchise training and learning initiatives.
General Responsibilities/Job Summary
Provide leadership, support, and direction toward building a world-class training experience for all franchisees and their employees. This individual will partner with Sales, Franchise Development, Franchise Operations, IT, and Marketing to develop, modify and organize training systems, best practices, certification curriculum, and delivery methods to ensure training tools drive peak performance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Assess training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with franchisees, employees, and Mighty leadership.
In conjunction with subject matter experts, oversee the conceptual design, implementation, and maintenance of all training and development materials.
Direct all training and development programs to ensure that proper training is designed, implemented, and monitored for effectiveness including curriculum for the following major areas:
Onboarding new franchises
New franchise employees for all positions within a Mighty business
Ongoing sales and operations enhancement (sales schools, FOT meetings, etc.)
National meetings (sales and business)
New product rollouts and product certifications
Present training and development programs using various formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, online instruction, podcasts, and videos.
Conduct market visits to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and modifies plans where necessary.
Researching training tools, providing recommendations on various outside vendors, and assessing effectiveness of programs specifically demonstrating ROI.
Direct and act as a project manager for training programs, improvement activities, and cascading implementations to sales and operations liaisons.
Tracks training completion and maintains information in the online learning management system (LMS). Develops and circulates detailed reports to management regarding compliance, training progress and effectiveness.
Interpret information from reporting systems, identify missed opportunities, and develop actionable tactics to achieve better results, improve quality standards, and increase revenue.
Acts as point of contact to employees regarding training inquiries or concerns.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in training and development including roles of increasing responsibility, including knowledge and the implementation of multi-media techniques and equipment.
Experience with adult-learning concepts is essential.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and innovative methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals or groups and experience with post-training measurement.
Evidence of strong interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills.
Evidence of excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences.
Positive team player.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Sense of urgency and ability to be a self-starter, effective time management is a must.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Training and Development, Education, Communication, or related field.
Working Conditions
Daily office hours are normally between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend responsibilities. A hybrid, work from home schedule, is optional after probationary period is over (3 days in office and 2 days working remotely).
