Reports To: Human Resources Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
General Purpose of Job/Summary:
The HR Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource and administration departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to HR management.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Help organize training programs and records
Provides clerical support to the HR department.
Assists with new hire orientation and onboarding
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and celebrations.
Assists with the preparation of forms and policies
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required / Associate degree or higher preferred
Prior related office experience preferred
Technical Skills:
Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite required
Strong clerical skills: typing, filing, and record keeping
Other Skills/Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS) and similar computer applications.
Friendly, helpful team player with a positive, customer-service attitude
Ability to adapt to multiple and rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
Work well under pressure and maintain a sense of urgency
Good collaboration and problem-solving skills
The ability to work independently and productively with little or no supervision
Dependable and reliable with an excellent attendance track record
Keep manager and coworkers informed of the status of issues and projects
