If you love Human Resources and you’re looking for an exciting, new Generalist opportunity, Robert Half has the opportunity for you as a Human Resources Generalist. This role will involve various HR duties, including recruiting, conducting new hire orientation, updating the employee handbook, and managing employee relations. This is a temporary contract position for 2-3 months.
What you get to do every single day
– Develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
– Develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
– Draft templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
– Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
– Manage employee relations, including coordinating sensitive conversations and engaging employee
– Accountable for completing various tasks and the daily operations of the HR department
– Collaborate with employees, upper management, and third-party vendors
– Differentiate local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures
– Collaborate with other HR team members to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
– Evaluate employee performance, including appraising pay scales, assisting with annual reviews, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
– Design & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
– Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
Requirements – The responsibilities of this position will require you to be highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
– Prior full cycle recruiting experience
– Proven understanding local, state and federal laws
– Prior experience implementing and coordinating Open Enrollment is a plus
– Excellent written and verbal business skills
– Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
– B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
– Prior HR Generalist experience preferred
– Prior experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
– Proficient with social media platforms as well as office computer applications and software
