There is one vacancy with the Department of Community Services, Community Assistance Division, Rental Assistance Branch located in Downtown Honolulu. Under the general supervision of the Housing & Community Development Specialist VI (Operations Supervisor), the primary responsibilities are to provide administrative support to all sections through oversight of clerical, communications, financial information, reporting and logistical support functions. This is a supervisory position that requires assigning work, monitoring performance and providing guidance to subordinates. This position must solve problems and determine the most appropriate methods for supporting the programmatic functions of the branch.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Six years of clerical experience, one of which shall have involved public contact work which required providing information, answering questions and inquiries, and explaining policies, rules, and regulations in person or by telephone. Such experience must also include, or be supplemented by, work experience demonstrating aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involves some supervisory responsibilities or aspects.
Substitution: Business school or college will substitute for experience on a month-for-month basis for up to two years of the required six years of clerical experience. There is NO substitution for the one year of clerical experience involving public contact work which requires providing information, answering questions and inquiries, and explaining policies, rules, and regulations in person or by telephone.

Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license, as required.
