WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Florida Human Resources Manager provides high level services and strategic direction in the following human resource functions: employee relations, compensation, talent management, benefits, payroll, staff development and training, organizational development and recruiting. They report to the Florida Director of Finance and Operations, will supervise the Chapter’s HR staff and functions.

The Florida HR Manager serves as the primary point of contact and leader for Human Resource functions for the Florida Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. The Florida HR Manager provides guidance and assistance to all levels of personnel on various human resources (People) related issues or inquires, as well as support managers in all aspects of personnel management, including the recruitment of a diverse and talented workforce to meet TNC’s organizational goals and mission. This role is critical to ensuring that the Florida team has strong human resource support, guidance and leadership to operate impactfully and efficiently, helping them to achieve their conservation goals.

This role is critical to ensuring that the Florida team has strong human resource support, guidance and leadership to operate impactfully and efficiently, helping them to achieve their conservation goals.
Responsibilities include:
Supports and participates in recruitments, including drafting and maintaining job descriptions, job postings, new hire paperwork, preparing new hire orientation materials, and maintaining organizational charts.
Manages administrative HR staff and provides hands-on assistance in areas where it is needed.
Assists in the development and will be the implementation lead for administration of HR standards and client services that support a decentralized and dispersed organization.
Provides strategic counsel and subject matter expertise to client groups.
Resolves complex issues based on expert knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and HR practice.
Conducts training and staff development activities
Coordinates the annual performance management process and compensation cycle.
Coordinates with the Finance team on personnel budgets and relevant changes such as pay adjustments and changes to benefits, that may impact budget.
Manages projects or participates on project teams as assigned.
Some regional travel may be required.
Maintains confidentiality in handling highly sensitive employee data.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years Human Resources work experience in area(s) of specialization or equivalent combination.
Experience coordinating and leading projects.
Experience responding to HR related questions, problems and data information requests from employees/management.
Experience the following areas: database management and spreadsheet software; constructing, and producing reports; data input, manipulation and analysis.
Experience working with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Experience working with integrated Human Resources Management Systems.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
May require fluency in foreign language(s) to support global operations.
Advanced understanding of fundamental HR concepts, processes, and services.
Experience working in a non-profit setting
Outstanding interpersonal skills and strong client service orientation.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with all levels of individuals.
Supervisory and Negotiation skills.
Ability to develop a working knowledge of relevant conservation issues.
Excellent presentation skills and training experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a self-directed, independent fashion.
