Description: With limited supervision, the Human Resource Generalist, now known as a People and Culture Generalist, is responsible for the daily functions of the People and Culture Department (formerly HR.) This position will include payroll and benefits administration. This position may include onboarding/offboarding, HRIS reporting, leave of absence, learning and development, and workers’ compensation administration. The People and Culture Generalist will partner closely with the Head of People and Culture to build and deploy scalable systems that support our team’s growth throughout every stage of the employee lifecycle. This position will have the ability to lead a wide range of People and Culture initiatives in a highly challenging and rewarding environment where this position will play a significant role in impacting our company growth and people strategy. This is a role where contributions will be noticed and will make a material difference within our organization by executing people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving People and Culture functional excellence. THIS ROLE IS HEAVILY FOCUSED ON PAYROLL AND BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION.
Requirements: TYPICAL DUTIES:

• *Process company payroll on a weekly/bi-weekly basis and other off cycle payroll transactions
• *Administer the day-to-day aspects of benefit plans and participate in the annual renewal process
• *Support and coordinate various People and Culture programs, including open enrollment, L&D, recruitment, employee recognition and the company’s performance review process
• *Ensure fair treatment for all employees at all levels
• *Work closely with the Head of People and Culture on employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions and terminations; coach employees and managers to resolution
• *Responsible for leave of absence administration
• *Assist in the development and implementation of various People and Culture policies and procedures
• *Support implementation or amendments to employee programs, new and existing
• *Serve as HRIS system expert and primary point of contact
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of 3-5 years Human Resources/People and Culture experience; generalist background preferred
• In-depth understanding of employee lifecycle and Human Resource/People and Culture protocols
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of federal & state employment laws and regulations (CA compliance experience required)
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and navigate in a rapidly-changing and fast-paced environment
• Ability to show discretion with confidential information
• Possess an analytical and research-oriented mindset
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office primarily Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with payroll and benefits administration

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
