Qualifications
For the GS-12: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring compliance with Federal and State RCRA, DoD, and/or Navy environmental regulations and policy. 2) Coordinating a hazardous waste inspection program. 3) Ensuring the proper segregation of hazardous waste according to hazards class. 4) Monitoring and implementing a hazardous waste minimization program. 5) Implementing hazardous waste turn in procedures. 6) Developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases that track hazardous waste streams generated, stored and disposed. 7) Preparing hazardous waste reports required for submission to Federal, state, local and/or Navy organizations.

For 0401 Series
Degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a related discipline appropriate to this position.
OR
A combination of education and experience in one of the above majors that includes at least 24 semester hours in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a discipline related to this position plus appropriate experience or additional education. The quality of the combination of education and experience demonstrates that I possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the work of the position and is comparable to that normally acquired through the completion of a full four year course of study with a major as described above.
For The 0819 Series
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
OR
Combination of education and experience — college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: 1. Professional registration or licensure — Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT) , or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board’s eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions.
For The 1301 Series
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
OR
Combination of education and experience — education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Physical Demands: The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as prolonged standing, bending and stooping to observe operations and walking and climbing are common in various weather conditions.
Work Environment: Work is in an office and/or field setting. During visits to sites and facilities, there may be occasional exposure to moderate risk or discomforts (i.e hazardous material, pollutants, cold, heat, etc) hat require special safety precautions . Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when performing job duties.
