The Human Resources (hereinafter, HR) Department oversees all HR-related issues. Staff in HR handles all personnel matters including meeting organizational goals. The department addresses all matters that impact the workforce. HR conducts studies, prepares and issues reports, and oversees projects aimed at improving and strengthening HR in order to meet the agency’s mission. The staff in HR provides guidance to employees on personal and confidential matters and responds to inquiries regarding policies. Staff in HR provides guidance to employees on issues involving leaves, benefits, and other topics.
Under general supervision, with some latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the prospective candidate will be responsible for the following:

1. There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position. However, the ability to understand and carry out simple instructions is required.
2. Candidates must be able to understand and be understood in English.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
