Reporting to the VP of HR, the HR Generalist will be responsible for providing support to our Planet Fitness clubs and their respective employees in all functional areas of HR including recruitment, compliance, employee relations, reporting, and performance management to ensure alignment with key business goals and strategic initiatives. You will manage and ensure execution of HR strategies, programs, and processes to drive employee engagement, performance excellence and support the long-term success of our teams by being a trusted resource and service provider and upholding our brand standards inside and outside the Judgement Free Zone®.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design HR club policy and procedure guidance and ensure rollout to employees and management
Provide day-to-day HR guidance to club management (including but not limited to coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions). Elevates situations to VP of HR as necessary
Explain, provide information and respond to HR-related inquiries including those related to employee safety, welfare, wellness, benefits, programs, and education
Assist Operations team with employee orientation, on-boarding, and other training programs
Monitor employee morale and culture through usage of onboarding and exit surveys, retention data, and other key indicators to improve employee life-cycle and make Alder Partners an employer of choice
Assist and coach Hiring Managers with the interview cycle process as needed
Record and process employee complaints of all nature, including those involving sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and recommend any necessary investigations or disciplinary actions
Manage the exit interviews process and report and raise concerns and trends on a regular basis
Support the administration for the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding and work closely and in sync with our HR Coordinator.
Update job descriptions and ensure we have career growth paths in place and communicated to team
Ensure employee documentation is accurate and in compliance with company, local, state, and federal law
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law and compliance requirements and provides all legal compliance within coverage area
May be asked to participate in special projects or perform other duties as requested
Skills Required
2+ years of direct, hands-on HR Generalist experience is required
Deep understanding of state and federal requirements across a wide range of HR processes.
Previous experience with a non-exempt employee population is a huge plus
Can maintain a high level of organization, attention to detail, and process in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional people skills; can communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Trustworthy and solution-oriented with a deep sense of empathy, urgency, and strong business acumen
