Who we are and what we do:
The mission of the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) is to operate safe and secure prisons and provide effective community supervision in order to enhance public safety.
How you make a difference in this role:
The department manages and operates or oversees 14 state prisons housing approximately 21,000 offenders. In addition, the department supervises some 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community correction and operates eight Day Reporting/Community Resource Centers across the state. The department is fully accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA).
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for developing and executing statewide programs related to recruiting and retention. The individual selected will work with agency leaders across the organization to build and sustain a pipeline of talent into TDOC. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting with statewide retention programs and developing and reviewing selection tools designed to ensure the agency has a highly qualified and capable workforce.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) increasingly responsible and varied full-time professional human resources work; OR four years of increasingly responsible professional general human resources experience with the State of Tennessee. Additional graduate coursework in human resources administration or other related acceptable field may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years. Qualifying full-time professional human resources experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.
